Network Rail CP6
Network Rail wanted to create an interactive route map of the South East train lines. Showing the track renewals and enhancements taking place across its five main railway franchises running from 2019-2024. The map needed to work across desktop and mobile applications. Its primary audience was Network Rail staff and railway engineers. However the success of the programme meant it was extended to be public interfacing.
The Challenge
Network Rail needed to create interactive website that had a user experience and interface that was easy to navigate through the 5 year time span. The interactive map need to show a holistic view of the maintenance works taking place whilst being able to filter down searches to focus on a specific station or train line. As the design lead I was responsible for producing the UI design and then overseeing a team of developers to build the platform.
