Girl Effect Lagos Event
Girl Effect supports adolescent girls and young women to make informed choices and changes in their lives, enabling them to take control of their body, health, education, and future.
We work with various stakeholders, including girl researchers, creators, champions, and advisors as well as technical experts, partners, and government structures, to inspire girls, co-develop solutions, and connect them to support and services for improved health, education, and livelihoods.
Challenge
Establish a consistent visual theme that reflects the tone of the event and aligns with the Girl Effect brand. Create compelling, graphics that communicate the mission of the event to encourage donations. That helps fund programs that empower adolescent girls to transform their lives and end poverty globally.
The event visuals are based around the Girl Declaration. The declaration is a vow written for girls by girls. Its comes from a piece of research that asked five hundred and eight adolescent girls living in poverty in 14 countries across four continents what they need to have a chance to reach their potential.
The handwritten typography is at the core of the designs. It conveys a sense of authenticity, personalisation, and warmth. It makes the messaging feel unique and expressive, often breaking from the structured, uniform feel of standard fonts. Most importantly it evokes a connection that the words being delivered are directly from adolescent girls.
