Qatar World Cup 22
In the build up to Englands first match at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar I wanted to create an illustration that reflected the optimism and anticipation of the nation. Whilst reinforcing the responsibility we have to make football inclusive for everyone regardless of age, gender, sexual orientation, religion or ethnicity.
Believe
I wanted the illustration to capture the suspense of as spot kick. The palpable tension inside a filled stadium, as a player takes a deep breath, steadies himself to take a decisive kick. With the weight of an optimistic nation, hopeful as they believe in their star player's ability to score and lead them to victory.
This is the static illustration. Which features the rainbow arch in the background along with the silhouettes of the manager and team and the expectancy of victory and joy with fireworks and camera flashes in the stadium.
